What counts as a check

A check is one AI answer checked against the sources sent with it: one /v1/verify request, one verify_answer or verify_against_document call over MCP, or one case in a hosted Verify Gate run. An answer longer than 25 statements counts as one check per 25. Checks that fail, stop early or are served from the cache are not counted.

Every check is tagged with where it came from (API, MCP or Gate), and GET /v1/usage shows the split; they all count against one allowance.

At the limit

  • Free stops at 1,000 checks and starts again on the 1st (UTC).
  • Builder and Team keep running at $5 per 1,000 checks, billed with the next invoice, up to 3× the allowance in a month. Past that, checks stop until the 1st, so a runaway job cannot run up a large bill.
  • Cancel any time from Billing in your account; the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
  • Prices are in US dollars. Allowances can move as we measure what checks cost; prices do not.
